Phi-Brows Certified, Permanent Cosmetic, Licensed Cosmetology Instructor and Licensed Esthetician with hundreds of hours training and instructing classes. Has performed hundreds of Microblading and Shading procedures with her and her team, which led her to open a 2nd DC location in Georgetown to fill the demand. Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup procedure whereby hair-like strokes are created along the eyebrow to either enhance, reshape, or create a very natural looking appearance on the brows that are best suited for your facial features and shape. It is a semi-permanent makeup that can last up to 2-3 years depending on the lifestyle, age, skin type and sun exposure. Microblading touch-ups are recommended every six months to a year to keep the color fresh and the strokes crisp.
Microblading is performed by manually depositing tiny pigments of color superficially into the upper region of the dermis. We use a commercial grade sterile specialized tool that has attached needles fused together in a straight line grouping. Laveda Lash & Brow Boutique always performs microblading service in a very sterile and clean spa environment.
Laveda Lash & Brow Boutique at both our 14th St. DC and Georgetown DC location, provides a FREE initial brow consultation that explains everything including mapping your eyebrow, discussing your shape that you desire and explain about the procedure along with your aftercare. The whole procedure takes anywhere between 2 - 2 1/2 hours. We also recommend reading pre-care and post-care on our website to be prepared.
Microblading or Shading is a 2 part approach. Touch-ups are highly suggested 6 weeks after the initial procedure to complete that brow look.
Shading Ombre (Powdered brows)
This brow service includes Shading with or without Ombre. Ombre is an appearance of light to dark, lighter pigment in the front with the rest of the brow having a darker appearance toward the tail. This is more idea for those with all types of skin including oily skin and those with a decent amount of brow hair. This shading will give more of a make-up powdered look than microblading, and will allow you to wake up and go without the need of adding anything to your brows.
Shading Ombre typically lasts longer than Microblading as it uses more pigment throughout the eyebrow. If you are looking for longevity with less brow touch-ups, shading would be the recommended method. However most people are fearful of this method thinking that it would look too solid or unnatural. Permanent makeup has come a long way and is constantly advancing. This new shading method won’t be solid, dark and saturated like the older permanent makeup that we were accustomed in seeing previously.
Combo Brows (Microblading + Shading)

This technique uses the hair stroke method to create “little hairs” but also uses a shading technique for more density. This look will still appear natural but will be darker and fuller. Since Microblading alone will never give you the “makeup look”, and implementing shading with the strikes, you can say goodbye to that eyebrow pencil. Your look will remain soft every day, so that you can still add makeup to it for a more dramatic look!
